Fans of Seiko went into a frenzy earlier this year when the brand announced the new Diver Prospex SLA017 at Baselworld 2017. For readers who don’t understand the fuss, the Diver Prospex SLA017 is essentially a modern reissue of Seiko’s very first dive watch, the 62MAS that was introduced in 1965. Alongside the SLA017, Seiko also introduced two new modern reinterpretations of the 62MAS in the form of the SPB051 and SPB053. I wrote previously that I have no doubts that these three will be some of the hottest-selling dive watches of 2017, and it seems that you guys agree as well.

4. Hamilton Intra-Matic 68 Watch Hands-On
The new Hamilton Intra-Matic 68 must surely be one of the most charming new watches to be announced at Baselworld 2017. It is based on a vintage Hamilton from the ‘60s and features loads of vintage styling cues like the reverse panda dial, straight-ish lugs, and pump-style chronograph pushers. It is not perfect, however. At 42mm wide, the case is a little too wide. It is also far too thick as well. Nevertheless, I think the overall look of the watch is spot on. So if you are willing to overlook the slightly larger case size, what you have is a watch that is dripping with vintage swag.

5. Sinn BLU1 Limited Edition Watch For Page & Cooper
The Sinn U1 is a very popular tool watch and it has spawned numerous special limited edition versions over its long and illustrious lifespan. The newest limited edition version of the U1 is aptly called the BLU1. Why? Because it has a graduated blue dial that instantly reminds me of Rolex’s Deepsea with the D-Blue dial. The BLU1 is produced especially for London-based Page & Cooper, one of Sinn’s retail partners. Two versions of this watch will be offered, one in plain German submarine stainless steel and another in fully black tegimented German submarine stainless steel. If you like watches with blue dials, you’ll probably like this too. But hurry, only 50 pieces will be made.

6. Omega Seamaster Diver 300M ‘Commander’s Watch’ Limited Edition Inspired By James Bond 007 Hands-On
Unless you’re Japanese or to Japanese culture and fashion, the name Lowercase may not mean anything important for you personally. Lowercase is, in actuality, a Japanese design and innovative consulting company that has worked with some of the biggest brands in the entire world like Nike, Disney, and Lego, to produce campaigns in Japan. Now, they have teamed up with Seiko to generate a series of limited edition Seiko Prospex Fieldmaster Lowercase watches.Seiko’s Prospex watches are essentially tool watches developed specially for professional usage, thus the title being a portmanteau of specialist + specifications. The entire collection is subdivided into Sea, Land, Sky, and Run. The watches which readers are likely most familiar with are the dive watches out of the Sea collection. On the other hand, the Land collection has some fairly interesting versions too. The new Prospex Fieldmaster Lowercase watches, however, are markedly different.There are eight new Fieldmaster watches, also for a start, they’re all quartz watches. Solar quartz watches, to be accurate, since they can be powered with light. The general styling of those eight watches is mostly similar, with the primary differences being from the dial, case finishing, and strap that they come with.All eight models will arrive from 44mm black stainless steel cases with vinyl protective shrouds. Water resistance for all models is 200m and all versions will also be powered with the Caliber V157, a solar-powered quartz movement. Seiko states that the motion is accurate to +/- 15 seconds a month and battery life is approximately 10 months when completely charged.As befits the name Fieldmaster, these eight watches have a style that’s acceptable for a field watch. Large cathedral hands and large hour markers ensure legibility, while a rotatable “countdown” bezel signifies wearers can use their Seiko Prospex Fieldmaster watches to time events of around an hour. Some models even have 24-hour mark on the dial, which makes it simple for their owners to tell military time. All eight Seiko Prospex Fieldmaster Lowercase watches can include rugged NATO-style fabric straps, except for 2 – the SBDJ031 and SBDJ032 – that will come with leather NATO-style straps.
